A Semi-Hypothetical Action

This Napoleonic naval battle was fought using the Close Action rules. The game designer, Mark Campbell, hosted, refereed, and provided the ship miniatures, which make a great spectacle.

This particular battle was fought between the British (dark blue bases) and French (light blue bases) using their Indian Ocean squadrons. The post-game wrap-up seemed to favor the British, although in my opinion had we played a few more turns the game could have easily gone the other way.

I was running the 70-gun Burford for the British, which explains why many of the photos center around that ship.

I have 2272x1704 images available, but as they are about a megabyte each and web server space is precious, I haven't included them here. Write me if you'd like copies, but make sure you've got plenty of room in your mailbox.

Turn 12 was disastrous for Burford, as she lost a mast and then, due to a critical hit, lost another one. My speed dropped from 6 hexes/turn to 2.

Unfortunately, I missed out on pictures of the final turn. It was a little anticlimactic for Burford anyway, as I was out of position to fire.
